This is the Eighth Conference in the Engineering Computational Technology series that commenced in 1998. Previous venues for the conference have included: Edinburgh, Prague, Leuven, Lisbon, Gran Canaria, Athens and Valencia. The conference is concerned with the application of the latest computational technology to all aspects of engineering. Computational Technology encompasses both the latest hardware and software developments as well as algorithmic and theoretical developments. Contributors to this conference series have included engineers, mathematicians and scientists.

The venue for the conference is Hotel Dubrovnik Palace *****, Croatia's finest Luxury Resort Hotel & Spa, situated 4.5km from the historic Old City of Dubrovnik and 22km from Dubrovnik Airport.

There is a regular bus service (No. 4) from the Hotel to the Pile Gate of the Old City of Dubrovnik. Buses run approximately every 20 mins during daytime hours.
